Customisation
Site owners are encouraged to use the facilities within the templates to customise their sites. This allows a site to display a unique banner text, banner graphic, and accent colour. Customisation of a template allows for a unique look whilst still maintaining the important University branding. Detailed information on customising the Dreamweaver templates is available on the installing, using and customising Dreamweaver section.
Why should I use the standard templates?
There are many reasons why the standard templates should be used when creating (or updating!) a site, these range from design quality considerations to accessibility issues. Further information on the rationale behind why standards templates should be utilised is available here.Local style sheets
The use of a local custom style sheet means that site managers can override many of the default styles, however it is expected that such customisation will not have a negative affect on the accessibility, consistency, compatibility and branding of the site.
