Don't panic - there are people who can help you with your web needs.
Web support contacts
There are a number of avenues to solve web enquiries, below is the right sequence to get the best result:
- Speak to your local web manager - they are a good place to start.
- Contact the Service Desk on (03) 834 40888, if you are not sure who your local web manager is, or you do not have a local web manager.
- Ask your web colleagues - Send a post to web-forum@unimelb.edu.au.
- Enlist the services of the Web Design Team.
Support networks
There support networks where university web workers band together to share experiences, ask questions and ponder the big questions.
- Web forum is an email list forum for networking with other web staff across the University and is often a good place to get advice with web-related issues.
- Web cuppa is an informal way to meet other web staff from around the University and share tips, ask questions and simply talk to people who understand what you do for a living.
- CMS cuppa is a semi-formal way to meet other staff who use the content management system. The idea is to have a loose agenda and to share tips, triumphs and tricks you've discovered or ideas you've had using the central CMS.
- Online Communications, a group of web professionals from faculties and other areas who meet monthly to discuss web strategy and policy.
- FLITE, is an email list forum for IT staff used as a self help and communication forum.
