Web cuppa
Web cuppa is an informal way of meeting fellow web people at the University and ask questions, share ideas and simply talk to people who understand what you do for a living.
When and where
- Web cuppas are held 10.00 to 11.00 am every second Thursday (the day before payday)
- Baretto cafe, ground floor, Alan Gilbert Building.
- Everybody is welcome - no need to RSVP. Reminders are sent out via webforum.
Why do it
Many web staff work in relative isolation from their peers, 'embedded' in administrative, marketing/communication or IT departments. Web cuppa is a way of communicating with your web peers.
What people say
In a previous survey, people made the following comments:
- "Great way to meet and communicate with the web community at Uni."
- "Excellent."
- "Access to web centre staff for resolving minor issues/questions."
- "Finding out what's 'really' going on."
- "Not feeling as isolated."
